The Intelligent Punch, also known as UPunch, is a revolutionary FUE punch design that boasts several patented and patent-pending attributes, representing a significant paradigm shift in the field. Its ground-breaking features include innate depth control that compensates for punch misalignment, cancellation of torsion injuries while grafts are inside the lumen, and intuitive navigation of the deep skin course of follicles, regardless of angulation or texture. As a result, transection rates are negligible, making grafts bulkier and wound footprints smaller. In addition, the Intelligent Punch minimises the learning curve for all FUE procedures, enabling the mechanical excision of tightly curled, Afro-textured hair to succeed consistently for the first time.

Conventional FUE punches typically result in wounds with relatively less everted edges. In contrast, The Intelligent Punch features a flared tip that expands as it penetrates the skin, creating wound profiles that are significantly less everted. This results in scars that heal flatter and are less noticeable.
The U graft features a unique mechanism, graft grip, pull, and score, designed to strike an essential balance between pulling and cutting. This mechanism works by gripping the surrounding tissue, gently pulling it upward into the lumen, and finally scoring the graft. Excessive pulling can cause the hair to be completely uprooted from the follicle, similar to plucking the hair.
The graft grip, pull, and score ability enables the punch to follow the hair down to the follicle, regardless of angulation. Consequently, doctors can confidently extract hairs from virtually anywhere on the head and body, including tightly curled hair, which has been a challenging task for conventional FUE hair punches in the past.
Patients with Afro-textured hair have tightly coiled, curved follicles that can be difficult to navigate with conventional cylindrical punches, often resulting in transection.
